We’re looking for well-qualified, dedicated franchisees that share our passion for serving delicious meals while building strong relationships in the process. We want to work together and make the process efficient and smooth for all our new business partners.

A little bit about our company:

We were inspired by 2 of our founders Matt Lancelotta and Vic Corbi who were determined to create a restaurant featuring a classic comfort food, grilled cheese, with a twist. They wanted to give their guests a warm and homey atmosphere that would remind them of fond childhood memories.

Along with this, our plan for each of our partners is to create the same atmosphere with low start-up costs and passionate franchisees.

Some benefits we offer:

Business consultant: Each franchisee will be given a Business Consultant to ease the transition and create a more efficient business.

Training: A three-week training program to help franchisees and managers understand the ins and outs of Grilled Cheese & Co.

Real estate assistance: Guidance to help decide the perfect location for Grilled Cheese & Co.

…And so many more benefits! To learn more about owning your own franchise of Grilled Cheese and Co. visit our website.

Comfort Casual : What it means to us

April 15th, 2014

When we think grilled cheese, a few things come to mind…meltilicious, childhood staple, and of course, Comfort Casual.  One of the most important characteristics of Grilled Cheese & Co. is the idea that our food is a twist between comfort food that reminds our customers of their fond childhood memories mixed with the casual and convenient feel so many people love in a restaurant.  We enjoy giving our loyal fans the ultimate comfort casual experience.

The Comfort of Food

Comfort food is the ultimate way to satisfy those cravings, enjoy a cheat day, or indulge in your favorite, nostalgic meals.  It normally involves food that is very simply prepared but, to many people, tastes better than expensive entrees that take hours of work to produce.  Whether your favorite comfort food is fried chicken, chicken noodle soup, chocolate, ice cream, or ours, of course, grilled cheese, there’s nothing like relaxing with this sentimental meal and reminiscing on cherished moments from the past.

Our Pledge to Casual Food

We live in a world where convenience and speed are extremely important, especially when it comes to grabbing a bite to eat.  There are so many tasks we have to balance each day, whether it be work, school, family or friends, there never seems to be enough time in the day.  Millions have mastered drive-thrus, take-out, and delivery and we are constantly searching for easier ways to get the delicious food we want.  At Grilled Cheese & Co. we recognize this need and continuously work hard to make sure all of our customers are able to enjoy our yummy meals with ease.  To make the process even speedier, try ordering online to ensure your meal will be ready when you arrive!

At Grilled Cheese & Co. we are completely committed to ensuring that our restaurant will be Comfort Casual for all!

The Best Month of the Year: National Grilled Cheese Month

April 8th, 2014

National Grilled Cheese Month

April is finally upon us!

Why is April our favorite month of the year? Well, of course it’s because it’s National Grilled Cheese Month. We’ve been counting down all winter and now the best time of year has finally arrived, spring!  This month is packed with all types of exciting matters including the infamous April Fools Day, which we have to admit, we can’t resist a good prank every once in a while, but nothing compares to April 12th, NATIONAL GRILLED CHEESE DAY!  Not that anyone needs a reason to indulge in our childhood favorite meal, but that Monday there’s definitely no excuse not to.

Where did this deliciously simple meal come from?

According to The Huffington Post, the popularity of the grilled cheese came about during the depression when sliced bread was cheap and convenient for most families.  Although it is now commonly made with slices of cheese it actually was originally commonly made with shredded cheese and one single slice of bread! It’s crazy to think that something so simple can be taken in so many different directions these days.  The different varieties of grilled cheese are just starting and the possibilities are endless.  This month challenge yourself and come up with an original grilled cheese in honor of National Grilled Cheese Month!

How to celebrate

If you’re going to celebrate National Grilled Cheese Month, you have to do it right.  If you’re making one for yourself, don’t be afraid to throw in your favorite ingredients and spice things up a little.  Make it sweet, like The Sweetest Thing, which we offer on our menu or savory like our Smashed Meatball.   It’s comfort food so be afraid to go a little crazy.  Or we can change things up for you over at Grilled Cheese and Co. with our Underground Menu.  Either way, you’re not going to want to miss out on celebrating the most delicious holiday since Thanksgiving.

We are so excited to be celebrating our favorite holiday, keep updated with our blog to find out what else we are up to!

The Underground Menu

January 28th, 2014

When we first opened the Grilled Cheese & Co restaurant in 2010 we received many requests from guests to add popular sandwich specials and a build your own option to the menu. Our philosophy from the beginning was to keep the concept simple with an uncluttered menu that was very simple and offered a great selection of sandwiches. While on a business trip I was reading an article online that talked about secret menus in the restaurant industry. The article may have been in Fast Casual Magazine. The main focus of the article was on In-N-Out Burger

and how they offered a secret menu. After returning we started to think about ideas using existing ingredients and began to play around in the kitchen making new grilled cheese sandwiches. We soon discovered that we could create an entire new menu from doing this. The next thing to do was come up with a name for the secret menu, it hit me, let’s call it the Underground Menu. A fitting name being on the down low for those in the know. Needless to say our secret menu has been a huge success as more and more guests venture to the underground every day.

The Dream that created Grilled Cheese & Co!

December 9th, 2013

slide1Welcome to our first blog post! For our first post I think I’m going to venture back at time at tell the story in more detail about how Grilled Cheese & Co came to be. It all started back in August of 2005. In the wee hours around 2am in the morning I had a dream that was extremely vivid. I woke up from the dream around 2:30 in the morning and was like wow why did I dream about me selling grilled cheese in a street corner on an airstream trailer. I can remember a long line of people clamoring to get one of my buttery treats. After processing this I went back to bed. My partner Matt arrived at 5:30am to pick me up for a golf trip we had planned. We were heading up to Penn National Golf Club in Fayetteville, Pennsylvania for a day of 36 holes of golf. Matt actually arrived early and was kinda upset. He began to tell me about how he was in a pickle because James his older brother had just left him hanging. James had accepted a job at the prestigious Black Mountain Dude Ranch in Colorado. Matt didn’t know what to do, see he had bought light street tavern a bar in Federal Hill with the premise that he would invest and turn the bar into a great bar restaurant with James. Well after James left him he was stuck and didn’t know what to do. Read the rest of this entry »
