Grilled Cheese & Co.’s New Sandwich Special to Benefit The PJ Aldridge Foundation and Lung Cancer Research
Grilled Cheese & Co. is proud to announce its new grilled cheese sandwich special, The PJ. From October 15-31, 2010 Grilled Cheese & Co. will join the PJ Aldridge Foundation in its efforts to raise funds for research and awareness to find a cure for lung cancer. A sandwich named in honor of PJ will include Pastrami, Swiss and Havarti Cheese topped with whole-grain Dijon mustard and grilled between slices of Marbled-Rye bread. Guests are invited to visit Grilled Cheese & Co. during the last two weeks of October when $1.00 will be donated to the PJ Aldridge Foundation for each of The PJ sandwiches sold. In addition, Aldridge Squad t-shirts and the teal "Attitude is HALF the BATTLE" wrist bands will also be available for purchase. "We’re proud to support the PJ Aldridge Foundation. Lung Cancer has not only affected my family, personally but also those of several of our employees. The PJ may just be a Grilled Cheese sandwich to some but to us it’s something much bigger. Its bread, butter, cheese and PJ Attitude! And ultimately its hope and awareness," said Victor Corbi, Co-President of Grilled Cheese & Co. This is the first event to be held in the Baltimore area for the PJ Aldridge Foundation. Lung cancer is the number one diagnosed cancer in the world and yet it receives the least amount of funding for research and awareness.
We’ve Joined Share Our Strength’s Great American Dine Out Initiative to Help End Childhood Hunger in America
CATONSVILLE, MD - September 9, 2010 - Grilled Cheese & Co. is proud to announce its participation in Share Our Strength’s Great American Dine Out®, a week-long national restaurant event in cities across the United States. From September 19-25, 2010, thousands of restaurants, including Grilled Cheese & Co. will join together in raising funds to support No Kid HungryTM, Share Our Strength’s national campaign to end childhood hunger in America by 2015.
Guests are invited to visit Grilled Cheese & Co during the week where 5% of all sales will be donated. Last year the Great American Dine Out raise nearly $800,000 We’re proud to join in the Great American Dine Out. Joining our efforts with the entire restaurant industry encourages us that we can make progress towards that tough but achievable goal of ending Childhood hunger in America," according to Vic Corbi, Co-President of Grilled Cheese & Co. Millions of consumers play a vital role in this initiative; their choice to dine out at participating restaurants will help feed children in need all across America. Nearly 17 million children in America-almost one of every four-lack the resources to put healthy meals on the table every day. Share Our Strength is ending childhood hunger in America by 2015 by connecting these kids to the food they need to live healthy, active lives. Grilled Cheese & Co plans to open first store
Cheesy aromas are filling the air this month, thanks to a new fast casual food concept that will have it’s grand opening in Catonsville, MD. Grilled Cheese & Co. (www.ilovegrilledcheese.com) is launching its first restaurant mid to late March at 500 Edmonson Avenue with plans to expand by franchising dozens of restaurants in the next two years. The restaurant will serve lunch and early dinner.
Grilled Cheese & Co. is serving up gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches and more at our first location. It’s more than just a new food concept, according to Vic Corbi, one of the founders-it’s a grilled cheese culinary experience.
Inspired by childhood memories of grilled cheese, the company has taken its lead by offering premium grilled cheese sandwiches and giving customers the comfort foods which they desire: an adult-focused menu featuring upscale, freshly-prepared grilled cheese sandwiches, homemade soups and gourmet salads.
Some Menu Items include: The BCT (Smoked Bacon, Aged White Cheddar and Diced Tomato), The Fresco (Fresh Mozzarella, Roasted Red Peppers, Pesto, B alsamic Glaze and XVO) and The Sweetest Thing (Sliced Brie, Mascarpone Cheese, Semi-Sweet Chocolate and Raspberry Preserve)
The focus is on flavor and simplicity. "Its grilled cheese at it’s best," says Matt Lancelotta, co-founder. We use the finest ingredients and our sandwiches provide an explosion of flavor.
The company also attends Wine Festivals, Beer Festivals, Fairs and other Events throughout the Mid-Atlantic region with plans eventually to grow the company into new markets.
